you could use one 10 or 12 inch w/ a 250 - 450w amp. JL amps are pretty good...the wattage is fairly honest unlike rockford and other brands. this setup will cost you though...thats why i havent done it yet..but if was going to spend my money on audio this is what i would use.

on my TTQR, I only have mb quart components in the front doors with the stock bose system and i'm powering the mb's with the stock amp. i thought it wouldn't push my mids and highs hard enough (not putting any bass to the interior speakers), but i'm very happy with the results.
for bass, i have a fosgate amp + 2 JL Audio 10" 10w3's in the trunk with a .5 farad capacitor. it hits really hard.
