After waiting on the list for ~2 years I'm now deciding between grey and black tops on the silver roadster. I've only seen the black but I think a grey top might detract less from the overall lines of the TT. Doe sanyone have pics (or links) of the grey top with the silver???

Sorry, no pictures to share with you, just a bit of info. I've got a Silver/Ebony roadster on order and have been told that I can't order the grey top with the Ebony interior - they will only provide it with the Aviator Grey interior (and possibly other interior colors). This info has come from two separate dealers: the Client Advocate folks at Audi had no information on the availability of the grey softop at all. One dealer felt the grey top might be available after week 18 for qualified color combinations, which will fit in for you if you are waiting for ESP anyway.

I think the grey top will look smashing on the silver car. I haven't seen a picture, but I have a friend with a silver Boxster and the grey top looks great on that. I'm not too fond of the grey interior, however, so I'll be settling for the black ragtop.

My dealer (Ersnt at Concord Audi) thinks the grey will be available after week 18. I agree, though, that the ebony interior is preferable.
We'll wait and see...
