Does dis-assembly of "switchblade" key,...
... to replace the batteries, cause the key to self-immobilize ? My key remote function stopped working, so I dis-assembled it to replace the batteries, and now it doesn't work via remote or manually. I think the key thinks it's being stolen or tampered with.
I've got the code tag included with all the stuff they gave me when I bought the car. Is it merely a matter of my bringing the tag and my malfunctioning key to the dealer, or do I just have the batteries in upside down? LOL :-)

Yes
Batteries go in + side down I believe. Go out to the car and stand by drivers door. Press the lock button on the remote. Now you have 1 minute to insert the key and turn to the right. Alarm should set I believe. Now turn the key to the left to unlock. Remove key and the remote should work now. Doing this from memory and I hope this is right. If not someone will let you know the correct procedure I'm sure. This is also in the Manual.
