Default should share------>

A common hub at the crank, though on different pulleys. Otherwise I think they are independent.

Default They are not connected. Besure you mark the direction of the serpentine belt...>>

before removing or you will have to replace it. Also, it's recommended to replace the water pump and the tensioner as these go bad. The stock water pump has a plastic impeller that breaks and the tensioner looses tension and causes the belt to slip.

Timing belt replacement should be every 60K miles.

Default so basically if you mod the pulleys (with ie UR)>>>

it shouldn't have any effect on the 'timing belt' and or the tensioner correct?? since it is two diff system

Default unless the pulleys are molded together.

If they are one piece, you may have to pull the TB, I don't know if they are.

Default correct. TB runs on sprockets, serp belt runs on pulleys.

The serp belt pulley is bolted to the lower TB sprocket, but you don't have to touch the latter to change the former.

That said I don't agree with the idea of lightened/underdrive pulleys for a street car, but, I digress....

Default well...since AudiUSA>>>>

said they will cover it if my timing belt goes south...(as long as if i have all my MAJOR tuned up done at a audi dealer ie 15k tune ups)

i just want to make sure that the serp. belt got nothing to do with the timing belts (or tensioner) since i have UR pulleys

Default huh? not talking about TB...

go ahead and run your "UR" pulleys.... I'm sure the Audi engineers were on crack when they designed the OE pulleys. The college kids who designed the smaller lightened, titanium, composite, carbon fibre, graphite impregnated replacements know better I'm sure.
