Hi all, anybody got an easy fix for this? Or am I on my way to the dealer with a fistful of $? At least half the time I go to lock my TT, from the inside or outside, you hear a double click sound. Like trying to lock a car with a door open, only of course there's not a door ajar. The car is locked. If you're parking it there is no little light flashing on the door to indicate the alarms activated. And if this happens when you're heading off to drive, within a few minutes you'll hear the doors unlock and the system is dead and the interior light comes on as if you opened the door. I don't know much about working on this kind of car but thought, hoped, it was something simple and more importantly cheap. Thanks for any thoughts! Tom (02 225 TTQC)

I've had two of these wear out. The switch is part of the door latch assembly inside the door, so the dealer will want to replace the whole assembly.
JustJeff posted a fix for the switch itself:

If the switch hasn't actually broken, you can try opening up the assembly and spraying with a bunch of electronic parts cleaner. This is what I did with the latest one and so far it has been holding up, for about four months now.
