Default draining coolant

so i drained out some of my coolant today (because i added the redline water wetter) i detached the top hose (that connects to the coolant resevior) ran the engine....drained the amount that i wanna drain (just right b4 the coolant warning sensors) then plug the hose back in added the water wetter and some filtered water....

does this procedure sound 'OK' ??

TIA

Default Not what Bentley's recommends...

I did it from the lower hose that connects to the radiator. There is a valve there for this pupose. However, I totally emptied the coolent and re-filled.
