Default They're the same thing.

But gaining hp at the loss of torque generally means moving the power curve higher up the tach. That could mean worse drivability since you need to work the engine harder to get to the power but if you drive around at redline all day (S2000 owners) then it might be a decent tradeoff.

Default well...if you mean ramming to create extra pressure, then absolutely.

BUT you will still see results from a minor Ram air effect simply because the consumed air is replaced with cooler air from the outside. Not as beneficial as extra volume from a true ram air effect, but good non the less.

Default yep...generally, high TQ means great launch, high HP means good power at speed.

Thats why that pesky S2000 really shines on the highway. All due to moving the power higher in the RPM band.

Default that's my point...all of this has to do with many other variables

intercoolers included. it's not only about air mass. send cold air into a hot manifold and it cools that manifold. send hot air in and nothing happens, that temp sensor still tells the ecu to dial back boost. cold day or hot day, it doesn't matter, there are tons of variables. yes the intercooler effectiveness matters but the cooler air ofsets it. i'm just rambling, but its important to consider what's most important, to me for my experiences, testing, and purposes it's cool air going in. i'm just rambling at this point b/c i don't feel like paying attention to my macro teacher

Default You must have missed my comment..>>

All those numbers are calculated ones. The Torque comes from various sensor inputs and the HP is calculated by hand from the Torque number. Chip a car and the parameters of what is done with those sensor inputs and how they factor into the "Torque" algorithm change so it cannot be considered accurate. We do not have a Dyno built into our cars. Go with the flow graph.

Default So we should really shoot for higher torque numbers?

and based on the graph, it appears that the stock airbox has the most torque available, but lower HP numbers. I'm sure there is a median there somewhere. The Neuspeed appears to have a flatter and move even torque curve.

That is NOT a Torque curve...It is G/Sec airflow...

Default Each graph shows torque and hp..

And at the bottom of the page where he has the graph of the G/sec airflow, it shows the max torque and hp in the columned chart.

Default That's where the original TTDA idea came from......

And the testing that proved it's worth...
