Default The dreaded clusterf_ck

My cluster in my 2000 180 finally is showing signs of fading. I am losing one pixel line on the readout in the center display. Audi tells me I am 2 months 2 late in my warranty. Is there any info from you guys in the know to get this taken care of. I was told I had a 3 year warranty when I bought it in 03 but the salesman was new and basically I am screwed. I contacted AOA and they sais there was nothing they can do unless I dig up my service contract and see a typo that backs up my claim. We are moving so that is not the easiest task right now.

Thanks in advance if you guys know any back door solutions.

Default you're in for like $600-$800 for the cluster.

the TT cluster is a piece of junk. I think they fail at an abnormally high rate compared to the rest of the model lineup.

Default CPO is 6 years/100k from original date of sale, which must have been some time in 1999.

As opposed to 2000.

Default Audi has known that those clusters are defective for a long time...

they should have had a recall and replaced them. Audi knows that they were defective from day 1, and therefore should be covered under warranty. That _symptoms_ of that defect don't necessarily appear until after the warranty period is meaningless - the defect was already there.

I'm waiting for someone willing to bring suit against Audi to stand up - I can provide background facts in support showing that there is a known defect. Audi pisses me off sometimes.

Agree... Timing belt failures at <60K is another major issue.
