I had noted on a previous post that my driver's side mirror had become extremely loose. It was shaking profusely while the car was in motion, while on the other hand, the passenger side mirror remained still.
Further inspection noted that the driver's side mirror had become loose. Most notably the adhesion of the mirror to the template was lost.
This past weekend, I took a cotton swab (Q-tip) to reposition the mirror to its correct position. Since the lack of adhesion had made the left side of the mirror slag or drop. I attempted to disengage the mirror from the unit to reconnect the mirror to its proper position.
I noticed a number of things:
On the inner part of the mirror (the side facing the driver), the actual mirror is attached to a two prong metal device. I assume this assists the mirror in moving around.
Second, the actual mirror utilizes an adhesion patch to keep it in place to the template. Only in my case, the adhesion had become loose.
MY SOLUTION: I went to my nearby hardware store, and purchased an all-purpose cement glue. I applied the cement glue to all of the contact points of the mirror to the template. I held it in place for about five minutes. It's been in place ever since. I hope this works in the long run. If not, my next step is to utilize double-sided tape.
