I have over 100,000 daily driven/autocross miles on my 91 Miata. I think its how you drive not what you drive. The Miata is a completely different car than the TT, just because they are going to do a roadster TT doesnt make them any more comparable than a TT and a Ferrari spyder. I agree the new Miata is too expensive, heavy and loaded down with all the crap people keep asking for and has been deformed from its orginal idea, give the TT a few years of requests for more cupholders etc. and see where its at then. The original miata was a lightweight nimble inexpensive true (rear drive) sports car. the TT is a sport touring car, based on a FWD sub compact platform, completely different animals. I have driven and ordered the TT and love both but one doesnt replace the other. I was one of the people who always joked that if you saw a white VW cab comming it had to be a blonde behind the wheel. I have found that Miata ownership is more evenly split. There are a lot of hot rod miatas out there with people who have had plenty of time to learn how to get the most out of them, so dont get too upity with your new roadsters because you might just get to the end of the twisty road in second place. Just have fun with the car you own, dont bad mouth the other GUYs car.
