the "breasteses" portion of the diagram holds the insert in place anyways, so i'm not sure what the "head" portion does....

This shot shows that that are "totally" different:
<img src="http://www.hostdub.com/albums/PanEuropean/Wiper_6.jpg">
On the Passat wiper, the "airfoil" is part of the non-changed wiper arm/casing, that does not get changed from blade to blade. Also this design in general looks larger/bulkier than the TT design.
On the TT, the "airfoil" is part of the actual rubber wiper itself... The only other "structure" of the wiper blade is two thin pieces of metal, and a plastic clip in the center.

I guess maybe the TT price is driven by its unique design... I guess I have no option other than ECS...

The Passat blades allow refills to be used. You will need 2 driver side blades. The mount on the passenger side blade is off center and will not work on the TT.

arm as low at the TT arm, though (distance from the glass to the top of the blade)? I need minimum height, or my washers hit the arm... Guess I'll see Wednesday when the parts get here.
