Default That is one old looking Simpson patch!

I certainly don't by the belt snapping in the accident unless Dale did something to the belt beforehand which he supposedly was wont to do.

The rescue workers that were first on the scene keep insisting the belt was intact when they extracted him from the car. One of the rescue workers even asked if he should cut the belts off of him and another just released the latch!

It is ashame that NASCAR is being so secretive with this entire investigation, especially not interviewing the people that pulled him from the car!

Default I read in another report that the belt was made in November 2000.

The looks of the patch could have been caused by stress and other related incidents. The world may never know......

Default I thought they were new belts.....

that's a very ugly break in the belt.
