Default EBC Brakes squealing - Help!

Hi there,

As the title suggests, my brakes have been squealing since I had the EBC pads installed. I thought the noise would probably go away, but after 1000 miles, it seems worse. I had the pads fitted professionally, and would take the car back to the fitters if necessary, but I was wondering if any of you knowledgeable guys know of a quick remedy?

Many thanks,

John.

Default Few varibles for answer...how many miles on rotors at time of switching to EBCs? and...

did installer champher the edges of the brake pads prior to install? Did the installer use 'anti squeal brake adhesive' on pads. Last two ?s answers need to be 'yes' and first question answer should be less than 5K miles (the less the better). If all was done correctly then EBC will replace pads since they are not to squeal.
Hope this helps...

Thanks for your reply. The brakes were done by a specialist who has been doing this upgrade for other UK Audi TT owners club members. Although I don't know if they champhered the pads or used this adhesive, none of the other members seem to be having this problem. My rotors had about 5,500 miles on them at the time.

Cheers.

Default Champhering edges is important...might want to verify with your installer...but if done then...

contact EBC and they will send you another set. Someone on the US TT forum noted same squealing problem and EBC USA sent them all new pads...of course the install cost is not covered.

Thanks for your advice. Guess I will ask the installer where I purchased them from and get them changed under warranty.

Cheers,

John.
