Default ECS Coil Wire Help!!!

I bought the ECS Tuning ignition coil harness repair kit for my 2002 Audi TT 1.8 FWD and am having issues with the wiring. Specifically I'm supposed to have 10 wires in the harness but I have 11. The ground wires are supposed to be pin specific and the instructions show 2 wires, one for ignition ground and 1 for the VSS. As stated I have 3 brown wires; 1 22ga, 1 18ga, and one 14ga. Where are these supposed to connect? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Couldn’t find the exact kit on ECS, but did you get a kit for the AMU or BEA engine? Also, did you download the install instructions on their website? If you can get me a link so I can see what you got, I can pull up the wiring diagram.

It's for the AWP engine. I have the ECS instructions and followed them to the letter until I came to the three (two on the instructions) brown wires. One is supposed to be for ignition ground and one for the VSS (the third, don't know) and they are position specific. I have the Bentley manual and have gone over the wiring diagrams but can't make much sense of it. My next step is to replace the wiring all the way to the ECU but I'd rather not if I can avoid it. I've included pictures of the harness in the car and the part removed. I think I can make ti work if I know which is the ignition ground and which is the VSS.
Thanks for responding.

My apologies, you have the 180HP engine, I was thinking 225HP. If the new harness is the one with 3 wires, I’d call ECS and see if they can verify which wire is what.

ECS has been absolutely no help. I guess I'll bite the bullet and replace whole harness.
Thanks for your input.

I have the same issue with my ATC 1.8T. According to the ECS diagram (I bought an Amazon cheap-*** harness, but I made my own connector diagram), it appears that all of them feed into one ground.
I took a poor running TT with a rat's nest pieced together harness, and made it a non-running TT with pretty coil wires. when I un-taped the harness on top of the valve cover, it looked like all of those wires were joined together.
Anyhoo, I believe my problem stems from my lack of experience pinning a connector, so I'm going to cut the connector out of the equation, and solder everything and cross my fingers.
