Default It is the same as the "test" springs on your car. I'm running Bilstein HD's with 10mm drop hats ...

a 19mm rear sway bar with 18/10's in back. Eibach's are the perfect match for a road car that won't shake out the fillings. It is more comfortable than stock with greatly diminished body roll. Thanks for the links way back when.

Default What is significance of Bilstein's new product line (PSS9) shown on their web site?

Default The PSS line is a "coilover" with the PSS9 being fully adjustable for compression and rebound

dampening, as well as height adjustable.

Default That's exactly what I'm looking for...

Specifically, lower with better damping but not too stiff.

Can you send me information as to where you bought everything?

Also, are the HD's with "drop hats" done to accomodate the longer piston on a lowered spring? Couldn't you have just used the Sports (shortened piston) as the valving is supposed to be the same?

Thanks for the help.

Default If you want to retain the most comfort, get Eibach ProKit with BillStein HD (vs. sport) BUT

I have the ProKit (Eibach also makes a "Sport" spring that is harsher and drops around 2: I think and is more for occasional track use) and plan to couple them with the Billstein Sport shocks. This should give me less of a drop (7/8" F&R) but add the stiffer dampening offered by the Billstein Sport shocks.

Default I wanted to drop the chassis over the front another cm and had my heart set on the HD's....

The bump on the sports were to much for my crappy roads plus I don't like getting shaken loose on the mountain runs that I do most of the time. Confucius say, "Too much is as bad as too little." I would wait a week and order the North American Pro kit #1570.140. The Bilstein HD's and Pro Kits are available from any performance retailer. Neuspeed, Shox.com, and Eurosport Accessories are some online sources. One important note is that I went with HD's over Sports because I'm running 18/255/35 in back. If your sticking with 17"s, then the Sports may work out better. For the U.K. Eibach connection (1 44/1455-285851) if you absolutely must have 100% guaranteed German built Pro Kit.

Default Bilstein has confirmed that HD and Sport are valved the same - only difference is shaft legnth

the sports have a shorter shaft length so they can be used with lowering springs including H&R and Neuspeed Race - which lower the car up to 2".

So shorter shaft equals less travel until contact with bump stop. HD's are cheaper also.
