Stopped at a sign, literally 2 blocks from home, turned the corner, and heard a small 'thunk' shifting from first to second. Car dies immediately.
Engine will start in neutral, but dies as soon as you let the clutch out.
Gear shift is "mushy"
Suspect cable?
Clutch out?
Master Cyl?
going into the dealer.
that is all

at work that races cars give me some advice today. I was talking to him about getting car chipped and doing a boost machine along with other engine mods. He said go for it but dont be suprised if your engine has problems down the road. He gave reference to how European sport racers used to boost up their turbos for racing but in no time would replace that engine due to buring it up. He also stated a person can go faster just by taking some driving school lessons. I guess his 2 cents, but just makes me cont to wonder if all this mods shorters the reliability of the car

So why get it tuned then? For those times when extra power is required and the fun of it. Plus, gears 3,4,5 and 6 are the real "turn on's" after chipping and if you monitor your boost gauge, you can drive it without over taxing the turbo.
