Default Re: Sounds like a bad CAT possibly

Catalytic Converter? How is that? Ok...exhaust/compression, I think I understand...the foot bone is connected to the leg bone, the leg bone connected to the hip bone, etc, etc, etc...

Default A bad CAT will cause all of the problems you are experiencing>>

bad coil packs/plugs won't cause a rough start up. A vacuum leak could cause rough idle, won't cause rough start, and won't affect when you get on it, a bad CAT will. Just my .02

Default John, the answer is yes...>>>

but you may have me beat being engine problems here, but worth a go to settle my curiosity, and it will be nice that I don't have to flip you off for beating me in the race! LOL! Yes to the VAG-COM as well. Let's rent the track at PIR!

Fuel filter? Hmmm? That sounds credible.

Default i changed mine at 35K regardless of what the Audi service guide says.

but you would think that a not so expensive part could do if it were clogged up. I didn't want to take any chances, so i figured it was due for a swap.

Hi; I can not figure out how to release the plastic fittings on the 2001 Audi tt Quattro. The fittings on my car are different then the ones posted in the forum. Do I need a special tool? Thanks
