Default engine support to engine block - 2nd bolt - how?

pic from write-up:

if you look at that pic, there are two arrows pointing to two bolts that connect the engine support to the block. my question is regarding the one at the top of the picture, how did you guys access this bolt? if i lift the engine up i get enough access to feel the bolt with my hand but getting the tools in there is a whole other story. if i lower the engine, i can nearly get at it. there's not enough room for a deep socket + wrench, nor a normal socket + extension + wrench. if i use a socket + wrench, the wrench hits the engine support and you can't get at the bolt.

i'm lost on this one... help would be much appreciated.

Default It sucks...

Just done it to do my iming belt....you'll wind up lifting the car up....puting a jack stand under the motor and lowereing the car so you can really tilt the motor to get at it...

Its doable...my problem was bolting my turbo back on first...the friggin wastegate was in the way of pulling the bracket out to install the tensioner and belt

Default wow, that's how you did it?

currently the car's up on stands and i was jacking the motor up. i had it up pretty high and it seemed like the car was starting to lift from the stands and that's where i stopped. you think i can get better lift if i put the car back on the ground and then jack the engine?

i might just give up on taking it off - i was only doing it for more room, i don't need to get the belt out. you replaced the turbo without pulling the head? i have no idea how anyone could have the patience to do what i just did inside of the car.

thanks!

Default Unfortunatley its not the first time I have had to do it

first go round was due to the studs breaking thanks to heat cycling...Second time was thans to the Ex trying to out do the Dukes of Hazzard everychance she got and breaking the studs off again...

3rd time was 21st of dec puting a new tubo on due to me snapiong the shaft and compromising the oilseal...which resulted in a smoke screen that would have James Bond and Q proud, due to the oil feed dumping every drop of oil outta the sump into the hot side of the turbo..All is good now though =)

botom one - lower engine enough for good clearance

Default the second picture is the one i needed!

i was wondering that, too. the smallest extension i have is a 3" - i guess that's the problem. it's good to know you got it from the top, too. thank you so much!!!
