Default Engine temp mystery:aftermath

Followup to my saga from yesterday. Thanks to all who helped out with suggestions. Turns out, it's the water-pump. So, I'm having the whole timing belt job done. I think we should figure in time as a factor that might override mileage. I'm at 44K but 4.5 years. If the water-pump is going, the timing belt couldn't be far behind. My extended warranty came in handy. I'll be out of pocket for about $500 which is a steal for a TB job at the dealer. There's a Sears down the street from the dealer so I'll pick up a battery right after I pick the car up. Any model number for the Sears International I should be looking for?

Thanks again.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1587905.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1587905.phtml</a</li></ul>

Default The dealer only charged you $500? >>

I was in the same situation, water pump was bad and to do the timing belt, I ended up paying an extra $700 and some change, as they charged me for parts and for 1 hour labor... ouch.

Default There is only one sears battery that i know of that fits the TT>>

it is the International....you could also go interstate, they are a bit cheaper at 85$ vs 110$ or so on the sears...

Sounds like a good price on the TB job..glad there is no permanent damage.....

Default Deductable was $100

The warranty only covered the "defective" part, the pump. The extra dollars are for whatever overage the warranty doesn't cover for the repair and the parts for the rest of the TB install.

Default Wall-Mart has one too, however...

The TT has had many different models of battery holders over the years. The differences are primarily in holes and tabs to lock in the base of the battery. You made need to file some areas of the battery's base to make it fit.
