Default ESP - when to switch it on/off????

My TT arrives very soon with all mods.
The ESP will be fitted - and you can switch it on or off.........we all know that.........but when would you want to drive with ESP and when without?

Is the ESP supposed to be used in "difficult" conditions - or should you use it all the time? I know it must be a matter of choice - but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Why not drive with ESP on all the time? - or will this not be as "exciting"?

most times off..but in rain or bad road conditions you would probably want it on.

Default I'd have thought the opposite. Most times on but switch it off when you want to play.

Default Leave it off until you plan on getting into an accident! ;-) (more)

Obviously I mean this in jest. However, since it is a passive safety feature you should probably leave it on unless you want to toss the car around.

From what I've read on VW Vortex and the Bosch site, ESP doesn't intrude (e.g., brake or affect the engine) until it senses a problem--thus normal spirited driving shouldn't be affected.

Since one never plans on getting into an accident, you'd probably be best served by leaving it on unless you have ESP (Extra Sense Perception)!

Default Reviews I've read of other cars with ESP

all rave about it. Porsche Carrera 4 uses the same system, for example, and in a review I read (can't recall where) the driver said turning it off made him a much worse driver!

Leaving it on would seem the best solution then....I'll play around with it!
