A very interesting and challenging location from a hobbyist photographer's perspective. The surrounding scenery is so simplistic, almost monochromatic, and very unobtrusive. This gives great possibilities for focusing on the car and its "personality".
I like the TT photo but in my opinion the S4 image behind the link image is even better. The car is stationary so the image naturally lacks some dynamics, but I really like the angle, composition, sharpness and the contrast in colors. Maybe just a bit more open space on the left side would have let the image "breathe" more but that's just a matter of opinion. It's very difficult to combine dark and bright surfaces without over- or under-exposing. I think this photo is right on the mark. Great shot!
The Evan's TT shot is also great but it would be interesting to see a photo from a slightly higher angle to make the car look a bit more menacing - or one could always lower the car 3 more inches, Evan! :-) Now it looks a bit, hmmm, buggish, eventhough it's notabug. And maybe a sidestep or two to the left would give a better view on the sideline of the car, showing those beautiful desert reflections. This angle might also give a better, 3-dimensional, view on the flying salt particles. And again just a tad more open space on the left side to show how huge the Salt Flat is.
Please don't take this the wrong way, I don't mean to criticize your photos, they are really superb! I probably would have spent hours trying different camera angles and shutter speed/aperture combinations. Definitely a place worth visiting, I think!
Great work, thanks!
Pete

I am really just an amature photographer. And I have to say that the salt flats were really challenging. It was so damn bright, and the contrast made it really difficult to judge where to expose. Also, I only had one roll of film to work with, I would have liked to play around with a lot of different pictures... for example your advice on different angles on the TT is right on.
as far as the cropping, I cropped the scanned photos quite a bit, so it would be possible to leave more on one side or the other...I wanted to get a lot of the subject (the cars!) for the 800 pixel width i limited myself to.
