Default Event: 2005 Deutsche Marque Concours Sunday 1 May 2005 Vienna, VA (Audi, BMW, MB, and Porsche)

DEUTSCHE MARQUE CONCOURS
Sunday, May 1st 2005
Nottoway Park, Vienna, VA
http://www.co.fairfax.va.us/parks/maps/nottowaymap.htm
Potoma c Chesapeake Chapter Audi Club North America Calendar of Events

Winter is almost over and you are excited to bring your car out and enjoy the nice weather. Well, you can do just that at the 22nd Annual Deutsche Marque Concours. This concours is co-sponsored with our fellow Deutsche Marque car clubs - the BMW Car Club of America (BMWCCA), the Mercedes-Benz Club of America (MBCA), and the Porsche Club of America (PCA). This year we plan to have commemorative dash plaques, a wine and cheese reception, trophy awards for the winners, and FUN for all participants.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF THE AUDI CLUB OF NORTH AMERICA TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT. THE EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL AUDI OWNERS WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SHOW!

What is a Concours?
A concours is a "clean-car contest" and car show. Vehicles are judged by its condition, appearance, and cleanliness. For the Audi Club, this event will offer two classes: Street (top-only judged) and Display (people's choice). "Top-only" is where the exterior, interior (including engine bay), and luggage compartment are judged. The "Display" class is one that involves the general public and participants vote by a "people's choice" ballot to determine the winner. As in the past, racecars are also welcome to participate.

Schedule:
8:30 AM Grounds open to show participants for placement onto the field.
9:00 AM General admission to the public begins.
10:00 AM Cars must be on the field and in place.
10:30 AM Judging begins. Cars not in place and on the field by 10:00am will not be allowed to show.
3:00 PM Scores are tallied.
3:30 PM Wine and Cheese Reception. Awards will be given at the reception.

Please note: This concours is an all day event. Resources are spent in preparation prior to the show, as well as on the day of the event, by both event planners and participants. If you enter the event, please be prepared to stay through the awards presentation. If your vehicle places in its class and you and the vehicle have departed, the award will be given to the next runner-up in class. Additionally, please be mindful that cars not registered and displayed in the show should not be parked in the show field.

Registration
The entry fee is $25.00 per car if pre-registered by April 25, 2005, or $30.00 per car if registered after (including registering on location the day of the show). Registration includes one Wine & Cheese Reception ticket; additional tickets are available at $10.00 each. There is no charge to attend the event as a spectator. If you have any questions, please send an email to Concours Info: audiclubna.d m@gmail.com

Default Anyone going? No offense, but it looks like a bunch of uncool people with old cars...

not exactly my kind of GTG. Is the whole thing geared towards clasics?

Default LOL! No not at all like that for us Audi folks...

Those were just some of the stand-out classics that I happened to have some pictures of. If you look at the Fourtitude Gallery, there are "non-classic" cars there...

But isn't the TT a classic? :-)

Seriously, we need more Audis to show. Last year was the first year that Audis started participating. Unfortunately, the original date last year was pushed to July 2004 due to rain. It ended up being the same weekend as Waterfest (!!!) and an Audi Club track event. Terrible timing and poor choice of dates that hurt Audi attendance but worked out for the other clubs that have been involved in this event for over 20 years.

There are lots of the folks attending that are the same folks you'd see at DC area track events with the Audi, BMW, Benz, and Porsche clubs.

BUT in terms of boring, stodgy folks, Audi TT owners usually aren't described in those terms, so it's really up to the folks who participate and hang out that'll determine if it's boring! :-)

Hope to see you there, if you're in the area!

Default Here's a pic of a long time forum member's car at the show last year...

Might be familiar to some of us old-time TT Forum members...

Default That's cool. I'd probably enjoy going, but I'm also 22 years old (more)

not that it matters since I get along just fine with persons older than myself, I just find different things "fun". And my TT has some damage. I don't know if it's up to being "shown" right now. But hey, we'll see, I'll probably check it out. =)
