Default Exhaust tips uneven

While I'm at it, here's another problem...

My exhaust tips are uneven in the distance they stick out from the car. It's not by much, but it is noticeable, and even more so when they heat up. They are centered in the valence cut-outs. Here they are cold:

I took it back to the muffler shop that installed it, and they said it cannot be adjusted; that's the way the muffler and tips are welded together. True? or crap? I know it's minor, but it's killing me everytime I see it.

That's enough that it would bother me also.

Default Here's the drill....>

You probably forgot this from Geometry class, but the angle that the midpipe enters the muffler results in the following anomoly...

As you rotate the midpipe the tips will move in and out, left and right. Just loosen the clamps as Bob mentioned, and rotate the pipe while observing the tips. When ya get em even, lock down the clamps...

That technique worked perfectly for my Borla tips as well.

Default Been awhile since anyone asked...>

What with all the other exhausts on the market now, but years ago when the Miltek was the only option we discovered this. Been posted a dozen or more times, but now probably pretty obscure for all but the veterans.......:-)
