Default ABS does not shorten stopping distance; just keeps you going in straight line ...

and from spinning out and killing yourself!

As a parent of three teenage drivers, I've had to coach/teach them about this concept being that we live in a snowy climate. With AWD and ABS, people think they can do anything in the snow or on ice until they get going too fast for conditions!

What kind of snow tires do you have on the TT?

Default Maybe this was your ESP and/or Haldex kicking in? Low profile tires also a cause.

IMHO!

I've heard some nasty stories about low-profile tires in snow and ide conditions.

Default Low tires might be it... but I think I saw the instrument clusters while sliding..

down but no "ESP" sign popped up.. and I was going down for a good 20 seconds.... had enough time to pop my head down to see the clusters.

Yup, still too early to swap them back to summers, at least here in the midwest & northeast.
