Default F! New brakes/rotors needed... (link added)

I'm going to go with Mintex red box for the pads... that's decided already. Now, for the rotors.

Choices are either cross-drilled/slotted ECS 2-piece OE replica or the ECS cross-drilled/slotted cadmium plated. I'm just not sure on either one... I noticed the 2-piece is 1mm wider (312x26 versus 312x25). Should that make any difference?

Also, my friend said that he can do the brakes himself. He's done the rear pads on his Grand Prix in an hour... Anything we should know when we get around to doing them?

Also, FYI... I'm trying to keep costs way down as I wasn't expecting on needing new brakes yet, so obviously a big brake kit is out of the question.

http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Audi&engine=180HP&mo del=TT&

Looked into zimmermans... but I like the cadmium more

I was checking out this page. Looks like they're different sizes? BTW, thanks for the link... that'll be a huge help I'm sure.

http://germanautoparts.com</a

Default of course, they're about double the price

that being said, I really like how the zimmermans from germanautoparts are drilled

http://germanautoparts.com/main.php?make=Audi&maingroup=Brake&selmode l=TT&seltype=Disc,%20front&l

Default Just realized something about the 2-piece

I was just looking at the rotor ring price. DAYUMmmmmm. They're out of the question now. Not paying $500 bucks/pair.

Now... to decide between cadmium coated ECS slotted/crossdrilled rotors or crossdrilled Zimmermans

Default Mine aren't cadminum plated and I've never had any rust issues....

sure they rust when they get wet but it hasn't been horrible and given that I live in the NW they do see their share of rain.

Default

Rear calipers need to be "unscrewed" to back the pistons into the cylinder - don't pry them back.
