Finally buying a digital cam and would love some help...
I don't want to put a serious dent in the Bilstein Project Fund so I'm not looking to spend more than $300.
What are your recomendations for at or below that price?

Larry & Ellen, I can't find the 290 anywhere has Kodak revised the model #?
All the local places (Best Buy, Ritz Camera, CompUSA) list the DC3500 and other Kodaks but none of them carry the DC290.
Any ideas?

OK, how does the DC3400 look? Are you familiar with it?

The DC3400 is essentially the newer version of the DC280. Probably your best bet for the $$.
Don't think they make the DC280 or DC290 models any longer, plus they would be out of your price range.

They might have replaced it, though I thought you can still get it . . .
The Kodak Store still has it, but it is well over your budget! The newer Kodak cameras are better as far as speed. Ask Peter (IslOMan) which one he has now. It is FAST!
