Default Finally buying a digital cam and would love some help...

I don't want to put a serious dent in the Bilstein Project Fund so I'm not looking to spend more than $300.

What are your recomendations for at or below that price?

Thanks

Just bought a refurbished Kodak DC280 for my wife for $289. Great camera.

Default I concur. I have the DC290 and the 280 is basically the same camera.

Just spend the extra money on the better memory chips.

Default Larry & Ellen, I can't find the 290 anywhere has Kodak revised the model #?

All the local places (Best Buy, Ritz Camera, CompUSA) list the DC3500 and other Kodaks but none of them carry the DC290.

Any ideas?

Default OK, how does the DC3400 look? Are you familiar with it?

Default The DC3400 is essentially the newer version of the DC280. Probably your best bet for the $$.

Don't think they make the DC280 or DC290 models any longer, plus they would be out of your price range.

I have a DC280, it's a great camera!!<ul><li><a href="http://www.pricescan.com/digiphoto/items/item119467.asp">Kodak DC3400</a></li></ul>

Default They might have replaced it, though I thought you can still get it . . .

The Kodak Store still has it, but it is well over your budget! The newer Kodak cameras are better as far as speed. Ask Peter (IslOMan) which one he has now. It is FAST!

<a href="http://www.kodak.com/US/en/corp/store/catalog/Category.jhtml;$sessionid$1QTY1UYAABR33QHIO2SHWFY? CATID=6">Kodak Store</a>

Read all about the various models and then ask some questions. Keep in mind Kodak is selling at retail so as not to **** off their resellers.
