I was planning to mount the grill as it came from Caractere, black plastic . . . there were too many defects, although filled, and a couple of ridiculously sticky labels . . so I painted the surround in black metalflake . . .

. . .and the rings have a black metalflake base, with candy blue pearl and a topcoat of clear metalflake. I'm ecstatic ! Looks really great in person, none of the photos do it justice.

BTW, repairs from my stopsign .uh. miscalculation were $3200 - cracked the radiator, too. Sheesh.
Of course this calls for a new sig-work-in-progress . . . hmm, this one would make a nice business card . . .
