This is my first post here, and I know this topic has probably been beaten to death, but I _must_ risk a bad first impression to get some opinions here...
I'm going to put snow tires on my TT's stock 17" wheels. I live in Denver where most of the time the roads are dry in Winter, but can get really nasty when it decides snow. I know the the narrower tire will provide better performance in the snow, but since the roads are dry most of the time I'm considering going with the 215's for better dry handling.
I've done a search on previous threads, but still can't decide.
Any thoughts or suggestions here?
Thanks!

I use 205/50/17 snows, but on a 7" rim (stock is 7.5").
From a handling perspective, there shouldn't be too much difference between the too.

Im like you I wanted a thinner tire for the deep stuff...only drawback is less stability at ultra high speeds with the thinner tire...but hey it is a snow tire so unless its at least and H you probably wouldnt be over 130mph anyways...But to answer your question they do fit fine on the stock 17 5 spoke wheel, im in my second winter with this setup, I use Blizzak LM22s

driving through the recent storm with new Bridgestone RE730s with no trouble. I don't think we get enough snow for me to justify giving up dry weather performance. I'll just slow down and take it easy when the white stuff flies.

I've used Winter M2's in stock size on aftermarket 17" wheels. Work great here in Iowa, where it can be bad but is usually ok. THey work well in all conditions.
