Default Flew home from Munich today, I got to see, open, sit in, photograph...

The new TT (OK, I wrote this before I posted my spoiler below...)!

I stopped by the "Audi Forum" building which is part of the airport.

They had a silver MKII TT and a Nogaro (?) Blue S6 on display.

NO ONE was in the place other than the receptionist. I thought it would be a display-only kind if thing, but I asked if I could photograph, then if I could open the door, then if I could get in, open the hood...

All the answers were yes. I finally asked if I could drive it home, sadly she proved she did understand English, and gave her first "No". Actually she said if I could find the keys I could drive it, but I didn't pursue that further.

Overall, I see the car as a devolution. The sumputous curves are gone, the interior looks very cheap (chromed plastic).

I will say the manual transmission shifts MUCH more smoothly than my 2001, so there are improvements being made - just not (in my opinion) to the styling.

I was very glad I had an extra 30 minutes at the airport, and opportunity to preview the car. I certainly feel I would find a way to spring for a Cayman long before I would get a MKII TT. That said, I think I have years left in my MKI - maybe I'll trade it in on a "retro" MKIII?!

I was there a few weeks ago on a monster 4 day conference trip. The airport is wild!

Is that the air intake that runs to the front, at the top of the grille? Thanks for the pics, Mike.

Default REJECT FALSE ICONS!

i really don't like the interior. the other parts of the car have grown on me....however the car as a whole STILL confuses me.

THANKS for the pictures. very cool that you got to check the car out!

Default Nice job! thanks for an insider on-site review :) >>

it looks good and new and would drive wonderfully for sure but what I only liked better so far are the new rims on the TT. front is like a Honda with an Audi grill mod and the back looks like a hatchback of some sort all aside from originality. and the -auto- stick is one of the worst parts IMO.
