Default FMIC or Larger SMIC (Side Mount ICs)

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/5426/tt-front.jpg">

With Marcus almost ready for the new GT2 inspired front end (can't wait to see it!) I was wondering if an FMIC would be good or 2 larger ICs in the OEM position.

I know the RS4 ICs are larger than the stock S4 ICs and people have had success. Just seems to me there would be far more air going into that direction as some of the FMIC is cut off by the bodywork.

Just thinking out loud

Default that really does look good! This is the only complete

kit that I have seen that look good

(p.s. I dont consider the P'Zwo stuff a kit, just little add-ons)

Default The way the SMIC's mount...>>>

I don't think there's any room to increase the size Steve. Marcus is going FMIC. Trust me, they work great!

Default True although I only like the front end - don't like the rear

going to do some research into the custom sized SMICs

I know but you see what I'm getting at. Way more air going into those side vents. Now if the OEM position has no room what about up front?

I am going to look into whether or not you can have 2 larger ICs perhaps just slightly instep (so the pipes would clear) in front of those gaps (same as the FMIC goes at the front)

Just thinking out loud - could be a lot of fun

Default FMIC gets rid of pancake pipes an shortens overall length

thus decreasing manifold charge volume. i don't think it'll make a huge turbo lag difference or anything, because a FMIC will increase effective coresize anyway...

anyway, ridding of the driver-side SMIC on the 225 will hopefully allow cooler intake air =)

imho, bite the bullet, jump on the bandwagon, and join the FMIC crowd!

something like that, I would custom build a IC and allow room for brake ducting. F1 style.
