Default FMIC Question: The more the better?

I know the bigger the intercooler, the cooler the air will run. With that in mind....

How about keeping the existing intercooler(s) and instead of taking out the old intercooler and its plumbing

I'm talking about connecting the 2(or 3) intercoolers together and making a bigger cooling system? Wouldn't that, in theory, be even cooler than 1 FMIC?

Default your theory is flawed in a few ways, mostly

the biggest problem is that with that many intercoolers, the pressure drop across the intercoolers would REALLY affect the turbo spool up and HP. Three small intercoolers can be worse than one big one

Default Like the engineer said earlier...

2 80% efficient ICs = 1 64% efficient IC However, the OEM 225 set-up already has 2 in tandem probably as a cost saving measure. The 180 has only the one in the passenger wheelwell.

Default No, unless you mean "cooler" looking.

So how about just a fake FMIC for "coolness"?

Seriously, fred and hoTTub make good points.

If HPA can use the stock 225's IC's for a twin turbo 6, they should be good as is, IMHO.

Default MTM lists an intercooler upgrade for the 225 but there are no details as to what it is.
