Bought the Momo Cuff Performance shift boot even though said would only work with Momo ****. Wanted the smooth fit around the stick instead of the gathered look you get on universal boots...figured I could play with it.

First used a little seam ripper to remove stiches around elastic and then open up the sides.

Then had to carefully remove white screw assembly. Next took stick apart and realized I had to fit it somehow to this part. Magically there was that little "O" ring, which comes off of the metal part of the stick.

Turned boot inside out and attached to stick with the "O" ring...there is a nice indentation which lodges it in place.
<img src="http://images.fotki.com/v3/photos/4/41507/90928/Boot3-or.jpg">
Turn back to right side and straighten
<img src="http://images.fotki.com/v3/photos/4/41507/90928/Boot4-or.jpg">
Placed on stick assembly and opened up seams a little more.
<img src="http://images.fotki.com/v3/photos/4/41507/90928/Boot5-or.jpg">
Placed ring on, used small drill bit to poke holes through leather and screwed on to make sure there was enough play in the boot and to mark an identation on the leather for final trim.

Removed ring again and trimmed surplus leather with single-edged razor....and voila! So Joel, when you doing yours???? Think this will look much better when I get the red interior, just wanted to see if it could be done. Now to clean up all my mess. Oops, got to trim that one little piece off the front....

Would be easier and look nicer, if I custom made it....so easy, just three triangles stictched together.
