Default I have been keeping some kind of quick detail and towels in the car just for this purpose since

the original "Willising" took place.

Thanks for being a good sport, Brad.

Default You'll be happy to know that the self-wash in Somerset PA does not recycle their water.

Or so they claim anyway.

Default I did the same thing at a "touchless" car wash up the street. Low profile wheel warnings should be

posted... Then again if I RTFM it told me not to.

Never again

Default Depends on the car wash - gas station car washes in CO do pretty well...

Except for a very few, they're all touchless units where the wash mechanism moves around the car, so no rim-scratching rails and no paint-scratching towels to worry about...

Default I had a friend who had this happen. Body shop said he had to get his hood repainted...

I had a dark emerald perl metallic Toyota T100 at that point, and offered him some of the Meguires Deep Crystal System Step 2 Polish I was using. Not only did it easily remove the offending material, but the surface was clear and smooth. Probably not a replacement for Zaino or Zymol, but a good start at prep for it. Note: The body shop was so amazed at the results, they now use the product. Not bad for something you can pick up at the drug store, huh?

Next time, before you lose your sanity, try this product. Don't work it hard. Just lightly. That way, worst case, you've lost nothing. But I've found you can gain a great deal.
