situation, In fact usually the best solution to moderation is 'tours of duty'.

..good interaction with you. Things have been a bit nutz around here so I hope you stick around and give it a try after things smooth out; you know how people are, I got a little over board on my anti OT stance too. Right now I would be happy if things just went back to the way they were. Don't bail out. JIM

I don't think that most of the reactions were over-the-top. Rather, they were necessary to address the situation. However, some of the personal attacks were plainly uncalled for.
Things change. I've dealt with individuals here who I mixed it up with and really disliked, at the time. Later, I got to know them better and my opinion changed. Perhaps, their's did as well. It's hard to take back words once they're said or written.
I think that, in many (but not all) cases, it's usually best to bite one's tounge, or if something must be said, endeavor to do so in a diplomatic and non-personal way.
