Default Most likely yes . . .

how could you say their are assbags in this country? Only one assbag and he lives in SLC, other than that your stay in the country should be all wine and roses! lol

Default If you think what I've said is more incendiary than what others have said,

then you're seriously missing my point.

That said, I don't really care.

Default I agree with you 100% . . .

History is not taught in our schools the same way it is taught in the rest of the world. Most of the history that is taught is US history. Very little world history is taught beyond the basics. We are too busy learning about our founding fathers. Hell, I graduated HS in 1982 and barely learned anything after WWII! lol

We don't know much about other countries and is the ignorance you were speaking of. You are right in that assesment.

Yes, the Monaco GP was an amazing experience. Got to do all sorts of things that not every fan was privy to. Was able to sit in both Ayrton Senna's and Alain Prosts McLaren cars! I stayed at the same hotel as the McLaren mechanics and got up at 5am with them for breakfast and down to the garage(tents really). lol

Met both Senna and Prost as well. Also went to the closing black tie dinner where Senna was handed his trophy. Want to go back in the biggest way. It was the first race I ever saw live! lol

Also got to hang out with a few people at the famous bar on the uphill. Drank with Keke Rosberg a few other ex-drivers. Was an amazing experience.

Default Senna's car in '87? WOW....

McLaren, Senna, Prost - that's all pretty impressive. That trip is one of the first I hope to make to a major race.... when I have the time! How did you score the behind-the-scenes stuff?

Good point about the education; I was thinking the same thing. We're the only superpower, with economic interests that penetrate every nook and cranny of every economy in the world, our populous is built from this brilliant patchwork of every culture on the planet, we have some of the best universities and graduate schools ever assembled.... and yet our public, junior education system is utterly provincial. I am originally from Canada, but moved here in the eighth grade and went to public schools from then on. The difference, compared to Canada's education system, was absolutely staggering - even as a young student I could tell that the curriculum was grossly lacking in international topics.

We are truly cosmopolitan, but yet we're not. We are an amalgam of cultures, while at the same time, our knowledge of these cultures outside our borders is unsophisticated.
