Default Front brake pads, roters

I need to replace my front brake pads and roters for my 2000 Quattro within few weeks.

I'd like some recommandations for where to buy what online. I will be doing the labor along with a friend who knows more about cars, but any general tips would be appreciated.

Default I just ordered a set

I got the Brembo fronts, Zimmermann rears with PBR pads. Here is a link to the site. It was a smooth transaction with plenty of communication. Durn good prices too. Do me a favor and tell him Nick sent you his way.

Default Re: Front brake pads, roters

I bought Mintex red can brake pads, OEM rotors..but not from the dealer(same rotors as Jetta, Bettle etc. so there pretty cheap) A large C-clamp to push the caliper piston back, some brake lube for the caliper slides, seals etc. and some dot4 brake fluid. The whole job only takes an hour or so. TTstuff.com has alot of the parts.

I went with Brembo Rotors (Slotted and Cross drilled) from www.ecstuning.com for $159 and Mintex Red Box from ttstuff.com for $55. You can get the pads from ecstuning now for the same price, but they didnt carry them when I ordered.

Since I had the brakes off I went ahead and painted the calipers and replaced all the fluid in the system.

Took a little extra time but was worth it and the Mintex pads are great, hardly any dust compared to the stock pads.
