After doing much reading here I have realized that like many others my front end creaking in my 2001 180 TT quatro is probably cracked sway bar bushings. I know the "best" fix accoring to the TSB is to replace with updated sway bars, what am I looking at if I have the dealer do this as I am not a great mechanic, ie how much will this cost? How much will it cost to have a private shop just repalce the bushings with the type available from TTstuff.com?
Lastly, other than the creaking can I drive the car with the cracked bushings? Will I cause any further damage to my vehicle? Thanks in advance for the advice!! BTW amazing forum here and an incredible source of information!!!

Basically the inner plastic cracks then rotates on the metal causing the squeak. Chisel it off and replace with the Powerflex 20mm bushings and you'll be good to go..

can help you? It will be HUNDREDS less than letting the dealer take care of it...

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1574737.phtml</a
