First - thank you to those of you who ordered one of the two styles of protective flap that I've "manufactured".<p>For those of you newly visiting the forum - I have tailored a sheet of rubber to fit snugly around the fuel filler nozzle so that at fill-up time, you can unfold this protective flap over the brushed steel and a small portion of the paint on the rear quarter. When your done, you just screw the gas cap on, fold the rubber back into the cavity, and close the lid. For those of you that don't or can't pump your own gas, it could save you some chips or scratches. The flap measures 3"x8" or 5"x8", depending on the style. I've tested it's resistance to gas, and it holds up fine, though that is not its purpose. Its designed to protect the fine workmanship of the gas lid assembly.
