Default Re: G200 Lateral Acceleration Sensor

I had that in March. ended up changing lateral sensor and longitudinal sensor(G251). Wouldn't have been too bad if I hadn't gotten lazy (timid?) and taken it to the dealer. cost me about $800 total for two visits (one for each sensor) and a new brake light switch for good measure. Yours might be the lateral sensor only as I had longitudinal first then lateral after driving a few hundred more miles with it bad. Expect ABS anomallys. (pulsing, pedal resistance ) The change out of the sensor is easy. (under the subdash for the lateral) There is some reset or calibrate function that is refered to in Bently but I do not know what it involves. I'm not sure that you can plug and play the sensors. (thus my timidity)

Good Luck!

Default Question about your lat/long issues...

I've posted about my issues as well. I had the G200 problems, tested it, and found it SHOULD have been the lateral accel sensor... replaced it, and am STILL getting the G200 errors. I tried unplugging the long. sensor and immediately got an error for it, so I figured it must be working... but now I'm thinking I may either need to replace it as well or, could it possibly be a wiring or ABS issue?

Were you getting both G200 and G251 errors or just one? Did you replace both at the same time or one at a time?

Thanks for the info!!!
