Default Gas Gauge "sending unit" problems. Good thing that I didn't cancel my appt. to change the tires !

Had an appt. to change to summer tires and ended up going to a local tire shop - great price for area on Yoko's AVS ES100. Anyway, I forgot to cancel my appt. with Audi, and what do you know - my gas gauge is reading 3/4 to full all of the time.

At the rate I am having problems with this car (with 1 year left on warranty), I think I should start setting up appt's every couple of months - something will need to be checked for sure

Default Are they replacing the cluster too? Our dealer replaced both cluster and FSUs

we had the cluster replaced (first time). Then the same thing - car read full all the time. They then replaced the cluster (again) and the FSUs

Default

Make sure they change both FSUs and not just one.

Default Did I get both??? Can someone check the list attached?

I got:
1 8L9-919-673-J F GAUGSEND
1 8L9-919-673-K SENDER
2 321-919-133 SEAL

I am guessing that it's both, but don't know.

Thanks,

Kevin

Default I already had the cluster replaced (based on temperature gauge going haywire...)

Seems to be working with just the FSU(s?) replaced.

Thanks,

Kevin

Default You may need another. We had our cluster replaced...the gas gauge went crazy the next day

Don't know if it was the cluster, FSUs or both. Perhaps the new cluster was not compatible with the original FSUs.

The dealer replaced both the cluster (a second time) and the FSUs. That fixed it on our car

Default so far so good. They filled the tank and I will see if the gauge acts normally through the week.

I am actually going through the process of moving to the US, so I might need to change the instrument cluster anyway (to read mph).

Default Our problem was it stayed full forever. Miles to empty actually increased as I drove...LOL

They don't know if it was a bad cluster and the FSU, so they replced both. Damn....glad I wasn't paying that bill.

Not looking forward to repairing this car out of warranty. That's for sure

Default I hear you. Well, mine has already moved from full, just don't know how far it will go

I am also very nervous about out of warranty repairs.
