Just had the cluster replaced in November.

Default had this problem too...

cluster replaced first (didn't fix, but gave me the familiar 'lights on, dumbass!' ding), then sending unit

problem solved

Default If the gauge shows full until around 250 miles then drops...>>

chances are it's the sending unit. If you have a Quattro then you have 2 sending units. The sending unit in the passenger side is intergrated with the pump and is $$$ and that's the one that is the problem.

Try this - put a bottle of STP gas treatment or Chevron Techron before you fill up then fill the car up. This might take a couple bottles, but it works.

Hmm. Makes me wonder if this is a reasonable preventative every year or so.

When mine was floating, they replaced the cluster.

I put a bottle in every 6 months. No problems for 3 years.
