Gauge pod "peeps"....I'm thinking about getting Westach gauges.

Ya know if it's so difficult to tell from a picture - imagine glancing down to see them in the pod
I don't know - they are trick and all - but I want something easy to see and read while i'm driving. I'd prefer the Boost gauge up higher - but I like the gauge pod so i'm willing to sacrifice somewhat.

No, no, no . . . why is their no vacuum on the gauge?
I don't care how high the thing reads . . . but what about -30 to 0? How much time does your gauge spend UNDER 0(meaning in vacuum)? My guess would be 90% of the time, if not more.

Well, EGT's are probably one of the most important gauges on a turbo car, even more so than a air/fuel since air/fuel gauges are another one of those gauges that will tell you that something is wrong, way after it is too late, a bit of a monday morning quarterback
Monitoring EGT's gives you instant feedback what is going on in your motor, especially for those that are *dialing* in a custom setup or constantly tinkering with boost levels etc...
If you have a kit that is set it and forget it, this will simply tell you when something is going wrong.
EGT's directly tell you how your motor is running, if your EGT's are climbing above what is considered *safe* by most standards, it means that you motor is running to lean and if you keep at it, your turbo impeller will be soon molten flying metal.
If your EGT's are reading low, this typically means that you are running too rich (this is the reason tuners will dump extra fuel into the mix in the high revs since this will keep the EGT's down and keep the somewhat sensitive K series turbos happy when it is getting to the edge of its effeciency.)
Running right in the middle means that your fueling is working and everything should be doin OK.

Dave... Double check on the dual gauges with 1/2 being Boost.

I do not know if depth is as big an issue with the Gauge Pak vs. The Wilson Gauge pod... The gauge area is completely sealed (rounded) on the Gauge pod.. Don't know about the new ones.
I "think" you can get the boost gauge with "memory" or "max" recall. If your gauge will be down there I'd recommend it because you'll not want to be looking down there while you're driving. That's why I do not have a boost gauge in that location.

ohh, I gotcha, misunderstood the question.
There are a couple of gauges that dont give vacuum.
Like my now useless Autometer gauge covers -30 ---> 0 for vac and 0 ---> 20psi for boost.
The next available guage from Autometer is 0 ---> 30psi only, no vac.
They do sell a separate vac gauge tho'
