I have been reading old posts about adding gauges... My question... What is better Mechanical or Electrical? Will VDO Gauges(from ttstuff) look good in the car, any other popular gauges I would be better off using?
Thanks!

mech Vs. elec.
neither is better, just different.
Elec: only 90degrees of needle swing.mech can be 270degrees.
mech requires a copper or plastic tube connected from dash to engine, a more difficult installation than just 2 thin flexible wires for elec gauges.
mehc still read correctly after engine is off, so temp can be seen after shut down.

But Autometer has been very accurate, and good to me. I had an issue with a gauge, which might have been the car's fault (A/F gauge), and when it wouldn't work.. they happily swapped it out for another gauge, which happened to be much more expensive, at no cost. And they had it to me within 3 days.

I wouldnt use any mechanical gauge inside the car except for boost gauge. I have seen a mech. nitrous pressure gauge used inside the car and it happened to leak when the driver was spraying. He got really bad rashes over his arm and neck. glad he was not a smoker.

that A/f gauge is not going to be accurate at all if it is tapped to stock O2 sensor.

If you have wideband O2...probably you wont even need an EGT. I had EGT for my maxima, but the response is too slow compared to wideband O2 - it took time to build up the temperature. I set my warning at 800 celcius and it went up to 820C around the red line. I didnt realize that I was running lean and I assumed that 820 C was not that bad until I dyno-tuned the car. I was running at 14:1 AFR all the way to redline on my 10psi SC boost.
