Dont you already have a TTDA? Why waste money on a CAI? LOL....

Default No, never had a TTDA. Just a CAI and yes, a waste of money!

No performance gain on the CAI, actually drained power, and consequently yanked that POS out of there!

BTW, John has a VTDA end on a TTDA, but should sound similar...

That a gutted stock airbox will outperform a CAI. Not sure how a VTDA is not a CAI, as you are sucking air from the engine bay?

Default I think he's referring to cleaning up the flow on the inside of the stock airbox.

if you pop it open you'll see there's quite a bit of reinforcing plastic and other rough edges. IIRC gutting an airbox means just cleaning all of that up and keeping the stock filter. A few folks here have done this but I don't know if anyone has measured gains or losses.
