Default Is the GIAC chip any good? and 1Q...

I'm looking to get this done this week as my christmas present... I was looking at Dub Werks in Libertyville, are they any good? and do I have to do anything else besides just the chip? Thanks in advance, you guys are all so helpful.

Default Re: Is the GIAC chip any good? and 1Q...

I've never ever had an issue with it, and found dealing with Garrett a big plus... he was very fast on solving a downloading issue which was result, not of their software, but a problem in my instrument panel. Eurotech Atlanta was my dealer. GIAC prefers not to enlist a bunch of installers all over the country as Garrett remains very accessible to experienced ones they have; allows them to present him with numerous kinds of specialty projects where he can customize for customers. I have 33K on my car, GIAC'd for 25K of those.

I've never had one CEL, the power can be delivered as smoothly as you like, or come on like gangbusters; it's that controllable. And the race program on 100oct take it to a whole different level if you have need or access to the "good stuff."

My OEM N710 survived quite well until relatively recently but it's really needs the DV upgrade now. I'd suggest you do this as soon as possible; the OEM DV will assuredly go no matter what tuner you go with.

I knew many guys, when I was on the Vortex with my K04'd Jetta, who had dealt with Libertyville and come away totally satisfied.

Default interesting...i've had almost the totally opposite experience

it was impossible to get in touch with Garrett when I was having software issues (which technically remain unresolved)

YMMV i guess

Default 2nd

I also feel that it's a good mix between smooth and aggressive, depending on how you use the throttle

Default same here :(

giac wouldn't even return my emails. and awe told me to take it to my dealer or indie and wouldn't even look at my logs. LOL. i guess i'm stuck and will probably end up wasting $600 and getting different software.

Default this was the first thing I did to mine.....

within a two weeks of getting my car I had the GIAC, Bailey's DV and Borla installed. I have never had an issue with the GIAC. A friend of mine had the GIAC chip installed on his 01 S4 the day after he got the car. He now has 130K on it now with now problems. If you don't already have a boost guage I would make that yor next mod. It is good to see were your boost is peaking.

Default i would bet it's hardware related. me and my friends have had all the iterations in the last 4 years

ALL have been awesome and only when i had a bad coolant temp sensor did the car run like crap. check with Jeff Moss at 310-466-4296 or moss@torque-factory.com.
