Default GIAC X-Chip

Hi..I'm thinking about the GIAC XChip for my 225 TT - read many old threads on this forum. Bottom line - are you peeps who chipped your TTs happy with the end result (i.e. dose it go?)? Any adverse side effects?! Does your dealer know you did something? Does your spouse know?
Thanks

All the A4/S4 guys here in MN swear by it, but I think the jury is still out on it for the TT.

Yeah, they definitely seem to have the S4 chipping down. Us poor TT folks are the ones who really need the 'boost.'

Default just did mine for Xmas present....

I am way impressed. I'd done all the other mods beforehand, so all I had left was the flashloader. Retuned the BM. I am spiking about 23-25 and holding at 20. Power is pretty instantaneous in any gear. I find you don't hold for long, because it revs so fast you have to upshift. 60 to 80 in 5th or 6th requires only thinking about it and it's done. I'm out of warranty, so no dealer issues. And spousal unit is impressed with how smooth the power comes on from her "passenger perspective". I haven't showed her how violently the car will accelerate now though :&gt

Excellent XMas gift! Did you flashload the chip yourself or did this need to be 'dealer' installed? Unfortunately the '01 TT (i.e. mine) can't be flashed - it's a socket job ;-(

Default My '01 was flashed by Revo...

5 minutes to upload the new program, and no need to have the chip replaced. For some reason, GIAC can not do a software upload only on '01 cars.

not enough memory space on the 01's......512k vs 1meg on newer cars.
