Default Going to dealer Wed. to get seat heaters working. Anyone else have seat-heater failure?

My seat heaters worked very intermittently when I first got the TT, and now they dont work at all. (I checked the fuse, but didnt do anything beyond that since I figure its Audi's job)

I am taking it to the dealer this Wednesday to have it looked at. Has anyone else had this problem or is there a TSB about this? I just wanted to be able to direct the service tech to the right problem-spot, so the whole electronics doesnt have to be taken apart.

Thanks for any advice.

My seat heaters work intermittently...The drivers seat doesnt seem to work at all, and the pass seat works about 50% of the time....Ive got an appointment this week to have it checked out...

The heated seats only work if you turn them on AFTER you turned on the ignition. If you turned them on prior to the ignition, they will not work. You have to turn them off and then back on to get them to work. Pretty annoying, but according to the dealer that is how they work on all of the TTs. Let me know what your findings are.

Are you sure that this is how it is suppose to work?

Mine also do not turn on unless you first turn them off and then back on when the car is started. BUT, if the seats are turned on, and if you put the ignition to the first click where you get regular car power, but the engine is not on, the heated seats DO work WITHOUT turning them off first.

So the fact that you need turn off the seats first and then turn it back on ONLY when the engine is running sounds like a software bug to me.

Default Seat heater failure

Thomas is right. You need to turn them OFF and the ON again to make them work. Pretty stupid sulotion. I find that out the HARD way. The manual says nothing about it!
