Default Good morning everyone, Ive got a little wiring question..

I made a post yesterday about wiring a new headunit and I got some good responses. But I have run into a little problem. I am trying to run the rca cables to the harness wiring that goes to the amp. ( I have the upgraded bose in a 2001 audi roadster) I am using 2 rca's because my unit uses the amp for front and rear.

So I cut the rca cable in half. Then I wired the core's of all four channels to the corresponding four channels at the harness going to the factory amp. But I know I am supposed to wire the shielding to the wire marked "COM". My question is do I wire the shielding from all 4 or just one? What is this COM anyway. Thanks!

All 4, and make it a good, clean connection. It's the 'common' point for all shields of the 4 mains.

Default "Back in the day" it was cool, MP3 players are a dime a dozen now. Thanks for the offer, though.

My 60 GB Ipod Photo will do for now.

Yep.... sad to say but it's old skool. Guess I'll keep it in my '91 V8.

Default I have both -the Ipod is a different tool.

Old school, but The empeg is still the only mp3 player I have seen that can build play lists on the fly (among other things) .
