Well, let me 'school' you a bit...
Rhetoric = the faculty of discoverying all the available means of persuasion in a given instance. Ignoring me was your chosen 'means', and it works wonders!
Instead of ignoring me, engage me! I'll respect you in the mornin' for it!
Next, we're gonna look at the employment of the Ad Hominem approach. I'll give you an example...
Me: Good Mornin' to everyone but Rahul...
You: Me! Me! What about me?
Me: Ah, young Jedi... thought you might be busy schoolin' Sean
You: OK, good Morning to you to sir...
See, it works! I engaged you by appealing to one of your base motivators... inclusion.
Feel Schooled now? :-D
