Default Good news - front sway bar to be replaced by dealer under cpo >>

Annoying squeak will soon be history. I took the tech for a drive and we were not even out of the parking lot and the tech knew it was the front sway bar. Service manager said don't mess with trying to lube it . . . went ahead and ordered new bar, bushings, and brackets to be installed next week.

Question: Parts computer (ETKA) has a 19mm and a 20mm bar for the 2001 coupe. Dealer ordered 1J0-411-305-AE and stated this was the 20mm bar. I don't show that part number in my ETKA (the "AE" throws me). Is 20mm the size of the stock bar for the front?

Can anyone confirm the part number above is the 20mm? TIA

Default aww come on!! like rubbing salt in the wound...

last time i go to that dealership. same problem. "we can only warranty defective parts" so obnoxiously loud bushings aren't considered defective? anyway. congrats. haha

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1317345.phtml</a

Is this covered under warranty??

I just purchased a '01 225QC as an audi pre-certified and when the car arrived (bought from a dealer on the east coast), there's this terrible squeak from the front-end every time that I go over a bump or hump in the road. I was just about to contact Audi Canada and would much appreciate some information on this. Many thanks!

Default Yes my dealer looked on the list of covered parts and

it is covered. It may depend on how they write it up (I'm no expert here). I asked at the service desk that if the squeak was diagnosed as the sway bar to please check if it was covered. They looked and it is covered.

I also have a good relationship with my dealer - sales staff, management, technicians. I communicate directly and honestly with them and they do the same for me.

Regarding your car the squeak should certainly be covered if it was delivered to you that way! Every CPO car is supposed to undergo the famous "300 point checklist." You might call the east coast dealer and tell them about it - then your local dealer should cover it I would hope.

Default part numbers are...

1J0 411 305 AD - 19mm also use 1J0 411 314 S
1J0 411 305 AE - 20mm (for modified vehicles) also use 1J0 411 314 AC

What does CPO stand for?
I'm actually not impressed with the dealer and the famous '300-point' certification. The car only has 20K miles on it and is very good condition aside from the tires having only 5/32 treads, the right side marker being broken, and the fader on the stereo does not work, in addition to the squeaking.

I completely relied on the representation that the car was 9.9/10 and the Audi certification...oh well, I think I'll be 'engaged' with Audi Canada over this.....
